Ahead of supporting Amy Shark on her Adore tour, Melbourne duo NYCK (pronounced N.Y.C.K) have released a new single, “Speak My Mind”. The duo have also announced two intimate single launch showcases at Brighton Bar in Sydney on Friday, April 21 and the Workers Club in Melbourne on Friday, April 28. Get your tickets quick sticks, kiddlywinks, this is the duo that made the song “Decision” that triple J played on demand in 2016 and were named Feature Artists on triple J Unearthed last year.

2017 is looking just as promising, with the duo supporting Amy Shark on her sold out tour, and uploading their second single “Speak My Mind” to triple j Unearthed to an overwhelming response.

“Speak My Mind” is a melodic, melancholic, and romantic exploration into love and life in the city. Lyrically, “Speak My Mind” is a pre-cursor to “Decision”, exploring the days and weeks before the break of long-term love, and is the turning point to which “Decision” was the pin-drop.

It’s a slow, heartbreakingly honest song, and Nick’s voice sounds like a sadder Hozier mixed with Sam Smith, while Dom singing angelic harmonies over the melody. If you’re in the ‘I-just-got-my-heart-broken’ mood and like wallowing in sadness and self-pity, put this song at the top of the Devastating Playlist.
