The Australian based duo Amistat has hit the radar with their new single “The Coward” and an Australian tour this December after a sold-out European tour!
The Prasil twins that make up the pair music in its simplistic glory through soaring harmonies and synchronisation. The soft beat shared between drums and keyboard accompany the brothers voices, creating a very reminiscent Ed Sheeran vibe circa 2010 (Eg. “A-Team”).
Josef, one half of the band speaks about “The Coward”:
“”The Coward” is about knowing who you are deep inside but not being able to let it out. People are very fast with making assumptions and judging you based on what you look like but little do they know about what’s inside of the person.”
To accompany a gorgeous song, the imagery of the music video directed by Kathleen Mary Lee and Edited by Liam Gordes, is impacting for the audience, as the single shot clip shows the struggle of a single man- in reverse. It allows individuals find their own meaning within the film clip and the lyrics, as it is just as complex as it is simple.
Very similar to their other tracks alike “Addictive Pain” and “Parley” with their exquisite sound and interpretive imagery, keep an eye out for these German Twins who are taking to the road in Australia.
Set to hit the stages in Melbourne on the 2nd of December, the brothers will finish up their tour at Woodford Folk Festival, with many chances to see them in between. Check out the tour dates below.
